Mary and Maria teamed up in 2020 to help outdoor industry organizations tell better stories and strengthen their events and brands. Their shared passion for storytelling and movement led them to launch SPARC, a communications consulting service for sports and outdoor organizations, with a mission to get more people active.

With 20 years in the running and active lifestyle industry, Mary has held senior roles at Strava and the Running Specialty Group. As founder of Active Brand Consulting and an RRCA-certified race director, she helps brands connect with their communities and inspire movement. A dedicated runner, she has completed over 100 races longer than a marathon.

Maria has spent 14 years in communications, specializing in brand development, marketing, and media production. As a writer, photographer, and videographer, she brings stories to life with creativity and purpose. She has worked with major events like the Big Sur Marathon and the New York City Marathon. An avid runner, swimmer, and triathlete, she thrives on challenges and inspires others to embrace life beyond their comfort zones.
